This year, What's On Publications celebrated its 25th year in business, and to mark this occasion have launched a new and improved website.
Free Listings
The foundation of What’s On is that everyone has a presence for free through our listings submissions service. This means that users can place all their events for years in advance into our dynamic events database, they will appear on the website under the relevant dates and in our print and digital magazines under the relevant issues.
Through The Years
- 1986 - What’s on Published its’ first magazine ‘What’s on Perthshire’ in May.
- 1997 - What’s on launched ‘What’s On Angus and Dundee’
- 1999 - What’s on launched ‘What’s On Edinburgh and Lothians’
- 2000 - What’s on launched ‘What’s On Kingdom of Fife’
- 2000 – www.whatson-scotland.co.uk launched on the world wide web.
- 2002 - What’s on launched ‘What’s On Argyle, The Isles, Loch Lomond, Stirling and The Trossachs’
- 2002 – Website launched interactive facility to enable users to add their own events to the web site and print magazine free of charge, their after events large and small had the facility to advertise there event with no marketing budget.
- 2003 – What’s on launched Scotlands’ first events WAP site.
- 2007 –What’s on merged Angus and Dundee, Argyle, The Isles, Loch Lomond, Stirling and The Trossachs, Kingdom of Fife and Perthshire into 1 magazine ‘What’s On Central Scotland’; giving a wider and therefore better value coverage to event organisers and advertisers. This magazine covered Central Scotland north of The Firth of Forth from Stonehaven to Helensburgh.
- 2009 – What’s on further increased the media portfolio launching 8 digital magazines to publish event information for all of Scotland. Listed.
- 2011 – Website redesign to asp.net to continue to improve the service to our event organisers and advertisers.
